The street of the tapas, the showcooking, competitions and presentations of the professional tent, the mini-gourmet workshops or the departures by boat attracted thousands of attendees, lovers of gastronomy and the local product to San Pedro del Pinatar.
The 1st Gourmet Shrimp Encounter of the Mar Menor, Vivo 2018, brought together in its first edition more than 12,000 people that over the past weekend moved to the esplanade of the Mar Menor to enjoy one of the flagship products of the salty lagoon, in the different proposals of a dozen restaurateurs of the Region, besides knowing new cooking techniques from the hand of a renowned chef.
Thus, the visitors could find in this central tent the restorers of El Rubio 360, Venezuelan Restaurant, Malvasía, Koroke, Trial Room, La Maita, La Palera, La Granja and Cosa Fina, Bakery José Antonio, the drink of Estrella Levante, Coca Cola and Maset Wines and Cavas, and Zambú coffee.
This proposal was completed with an extensive program of lectures, tastings and showcooking, with CCT professionals, local restaurateurs such as El Rubio 360, El Venezuela and José Antonio Bakery;
Michelin stars of the stature of Fran Martínez, of Maralba (2 Michelin stars), or Manuel Alonso, of Casa Manolo (1 Michelin star).
In addition to reference professionals in the Region such as José Cremades, of the La Cangreja Group and David López, of the Trial Office.
The president of the Fishermen's Association, Jesús Antonio Gómez, and the biologist Ana Muñoz also participated in this space, analyzing the challenges regarding the conservation and fishing of the shrimp from the Mar Menor.
The program was completed with boat trips to see the shrimp fishing, mini-gourmet workshops for children and concerts that entertained the busy tapas street.
AWARD TO THE BEST TAPAS
Within the framework of this Gastronomic Encounter, professional and popular cooking competitions have also been held, which have awarded the best tapa made with shrimp from Mar Menor in both categories.
Thus, the prize for the best professional cover went to Salvador Fernández, from El Borrego Restaurant, for "Los prawns visit the mountain", endowed with 800 euros in Makro products, followed by Fecunda Baños de El Albero, with "False Mochi de langostino" of the Mar Menor ", endowed with 400 euros in Makro, and the third prize, of 300 euros also in this area, was for Leticia Ruiz and her" Prawn Sphere of the Mar Menor with chato murciano ".
In the popular contest the winner was Sergio Sarmiento, for "Canutillos del Mar Menor", a tapa that earned him a meal in the restaurant La Cabaña, by Pablo González Conejero, with 2 Michelin Stars.
The Live Event 2018 has been organized by the City of San Pedro del Pinatar, through the Department of Tourism, Tourist Murcia, with the campaign 1.001 Flavors Region of Murcia, the businessman Manolo Sotomayor and the direction of Sergio Gallego, of La Brújula of the Gourmet.
