Young people from Pinar del Rio will enjoy activities from November to May during the weekend at the Juan Martínez Juliá Leisure and Space Center for Emerging Arts, such as acoustic concerts, cooking workshops, exhibitions, videogames, urban dance, escape room, technology days, etc.
The Councilor for Youth of San Pedro del Pinatar, Javier Castejon, together with the coordinator of the Leisure Space, Leisure Time and Emerging Arts, Alejandro López, today presented the new program of Healthy Alternative Leisure that will take place between November and May in this space.
Javier Castejón explained that the objective of this program, coordinated by the Department of Youth with local associations and youth, is to offer a broad program, adapted to the interests and motivations of young people, a space where they can also develop their concerns and hobbies, collected through surveys in institutes, youth associations and the youth information point.
Thus, the program has the collaboration of local youth associations Scout Group of San Pedro del Pinatar, Mikaseda, Rock Experience, and Wargames Association.
This initiative will begin on November 23 with a healthy cooking workshop and practice, which will also include methods of recycling garbage, included in the European program GEGL (Global Education Goes Local) in which the council participates with local associations;
an activity that will be repeated on April 27.
For its part, on November 30, the Scout Group of San Pedro del Pinatar will hold an open day, where it will publicize its activities through outdoor games and performances;
an initiative that will be repeated on Saturday, March 23, 2019.
On December 15, the center will hold an open day at its Youth Space, in collaboration with the Mikaseda and Wargames associations, which will include championships, role-playing games, workshops, etc.
While on December 28 will open the cycle of concerts with the performance of the duo Andrea and Virginia.
On January 11 the protagonist will be the humor with the monologueist Kalderas, and on Saturday 26 a Laser battle championship will be held.
During the month of February the Punk Fiction group will play on Friday 1, and there will be a concert with the students of the Rock Experience music classroom, on the 22nd. There will also be a videogame championship on February 16th.
The month of March will boost the talent of young people from Pinar del Rio with the I Youth Art Contest, which will be held on the 2nd, an initiative that will be transferred to the musical field on May 3 with the 1st Contest of singer-songwriters and the exhibition on 17th May of the works of the drawing workshop taught by Manu Moya.
In addition, on March 8 there will be a rom escape activity and the fairground will host the I Lan Party of San Pedro del Pinatar on Saturday March 30.
On April 27, the young space will host an urban dance show and on May 11 there will be a technological and recreational day also in this center.
