The City of San Pedro del Pinatar has scheduled various activities to commemorate Children's Day, which is held on November 20, as a family day, open doors in the traffic playground, puppet theater, reading animation, sports activities or a radio program, with the Council of Childhood and Adolescence as protagonist.
The mayor of San Pedro del Pinatar, Visitación Martínez, and the Councilor for Social Welfare, Francisca Pelegrín, today presented the activities scheduled by the City Council on the occasion of Children's Day, which takes place on November 20.
Visitación Martínez explained that the City Council has programmed various actions in a transversal manner aimed at the protection and development of childhood and adolescence, a work that in the last year has intensified with the approval of the Childhood and Adolescence Plan and, mainly, with the creation of the Council for Childhood and Adolescence, a consultative body made up of 21 children and adolescents from all the schools and institutes in the town.
This commitment to the defense and enhancement of the rights of children and adolescents has resulted in the recognition of UNICEF, which has recently awarded the City of San Pedro del Pinatar the stamp of Ciudad Amiga de la Infancia
Regarding the specific programming of Children's Day, which is celebrated on November 20, has highlighted that the image of these activities is the winning drawing of the school drawing contest "Safe in the classroom", aimed at children knowing the content of the Convention on the Rights of the Child, and in which more than a hundred third and fourth grade students have participated.
The student Esperanza Martínez Sáez, from Villa Alegría has been the winner of this edition, while the second prize went to Alba Ríos Barbero, of Nuestra Señora del Carmen, and the third in Asmae Salhi Bemedah, of Los Antolinos.
ACTIVITY PROGRAM
For its part, the councilor of Social Welfare has detailed that the program will start on Friday, November 16, with a family day in the municipal tent, which will include creative workshops, which is done by the Mikaseda association, and multi-adventure activities.
On Saturday, November 17, there will be a day of Open Doors in the Children's Traffic Park, from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. and from 3:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. and the children's theater "Arriba las manos", in the house of culture at 18:00 hours, included in Titeremurcia.
On International Children's Rights Day, Tuesday, November 20, a special program of Radio Pinatar will be held, with members of the Council for Children and Adolescents, in which they will explain how they have worked this year and will also talk about the Children's rights.
At 12:00 a public ceremony will take place at the Casa de la Cultura, with the reading of the manifesto, by the Mayor and the members of the council.
Also on the 20th there will be a recreational sports day at Las Esperanzas and a workshop to encourage reading at the municipal library.
In this edition, the Visitors Center of the Regional Park has also collaborated, with a workshop on "flamenco masks", from November 20 to Sunday, November 25.
