The Cultural Casino of San Pedro del Pinatar hosted last night, the delivery of the XXVI Golden Parra, an award given by the Andreu family since 1988, after the severe floods that plagued the municipality, and this year have gone to the General Academy of the Air that this year celebrate its 75th anniversary.
José Andreu Martínez, known as Pepe el Parras, spoke to those present including San Pedro del Pinatar authorities, awarded in previous years, relatives, as well as a broad representation of the society of the region, associations and groups to justify the this year's award and deliver the Parra de Oro and a Commemorative Plate to the Colonel of the AGA, Don Miguel Ivorra Ruiz.
The colonel, as the highest representative of the Military Institution, thanked the distinction and recalled some of the events that took place this year to celebrate the 75th anniversary, such as the aerial festival and static exhibition at the AGA on June 9 and 10 , different Flag Swords in localities of the Region, as well as the gala held in the military installations ...
For its part, the mayor of San Pedro del Pinatar, Visitation Martinez, recalled the ties that bind the General Air Academy with the locality such as participation in the Holy Week in Pinar del Rio, the concert of the Music Unit on the occasion of the 16th of July and the contribution of the Eagle Patrol during the Pilgrimage of the Virgen del Carmen, among others.
Since its constitution, the Parra de Oro has recognized the work of groups such as the Fishermen's Association, Holy Week, the Association of Housewives or Aidemar, as well as relevant personalities in the business, social, political or sports fields.
