San Pedro del Pinatar celebrated today the Universal Children's Day with the reading of a manifesto, by children and adolescents of the schools of the town, the delivery of prizes of the contest "Safe in the classrooms", and a program Radio Pinatar special in which they talked about how they have worked the problem of Bullying in the classroom and cyberbullying.
The House of Culture this year was the venue chosen to celebrate the International Day of Children's Rights, there, in the facilities of Radio Pinatar, members of the Council for Children and Adolescents, have made a special program to explain what they have worked on this year, what is the "Pinatarus Conflictus", a malefic virus, and its antidote, "Ibuflictus" a peace vaccine and good treatment.
At 12:00 noon, the manifesto was read by the Mayor and the members of the council.
Thus, Visitación Martínez has pointed out that November 20 is a day to "make known the rights of children and raise awareness of the importance of working every day for their welfare and development" and recalled that from the City Council it works on the protection and development of childhood and adolescence, "a work that in the last year has intensified with the approval of the Plan of Childhood and Adolescence, and with the creation of the Council of Childhood and Adolescence, an advisory body formed by 21 children and adolescents of all the schools and institutes of the locality ".
Visitación Martínez has also indicated that this commitment to the defense of the rights of children and adolescents has resulted in the recognition of UNICEF, which has recently awarded the City of San Pedro del Pinatar the City of Amigo Childhood seal.

Afterwards, the prizes of the School Drawing Contest "Safe in the Classrooms" were given, aimed at making children aware of the content of the Convention on the Rights of the Child, and in which more than a hundred third-year students have participated. and fourth grade.
The winning image, which has also been included in the poster for the Children's Day program, has been the drawing of the student Esperanza Martínez Sáez, from Villa Alegría, with 60 euros of sports equipment;
while the second prize went to Alba Ríos Barbero, of Nuestra Señora del Carmen, who received 50 euros of sports equipment and the third in Asmae Salhi Bemedah, from Los Antolinos, with 40 euros of sports equipment.
The event has ended with the release of blue helium balloons, following the suggestion of UNICEF for this year 2018 to paint or wear this color today, by children of school Maspalomas child.
The Department of Social Welfare has coordinated an extensive program of activities, in coordination with other departments, which has included handicraft workshops, open day in the traffic playground, children's theater and reading animation, among other activities.
In this edition, the Visitors Center of the Regional Park has also collaborated, with a workshop on "flamenco masks", from November 20 to Sunday, November 25.
