The mayor of San Pedro del Pinatar, Visitación Marínez, accompanied by the Councilor for Social Welfare, Francisca Pelegrín, this morning collected the seal of recognition as "Child Friendly City" that UNICEF has granted to the City of San Pedro del Pinatar.
The delivery took place in the Palace of Exhibitions and Congresses of Oviedo, where UNICEF gave the stamp of recognition to 144 who get it for the first time as San Pedro del Pinatar, in addition to renewing others, 80 municipalities.
Likewise, 25 projects have received the corresponding recognitions as winners of the IX Contest of Good Practices in Children's Rights and Municipal Policy.
Thus, this recognition whose main objective is to improve the welfare of children from the closest environment, is the result of the municipal commitment to the defense and enhancement of the rights of children and adolescents in the last year. seen increased with different performances.
This recognition highlights the effort of San Pedro del Pinatar to incorporate childhood and adolescence at the center of the political and social agenda, by listening to them and carrying out the decisions made in the Council for Child and Adolescent Participation.
In the Region of Murcia we have 11 municipalities recognized as Child Friendly City.
The new additions are, along with San Pedro del Pinatar, Alcantarilla, Bullas, Calasparra, Campos del Río and Cartagena.
