The mayor of San Pedro del Pinatar, Visitación Martínez, accompanied by the councilor for the Environment, Pedro Javier Sánchez, and winners of the plots, today opened the new space for urban gardens located in the area of ​​Las Charcas.
Thus, 25 plots have been set up for ecological cultivation, with an area of ​​50 square meters, with an irrigation point connected to the general network.
In addition, the area has been adapted with a perimeter fence, a central pedestrian area, and street lighting.
The allocation of plots was done by lottery among the Pinatarenses who requested it within the term of the call.
The mayor stressed that these plots, which are granted for 2 years for the cultivation of horticultural species, represent a new green space in the municipality, totally respectful with the environment, in fact workshops on organic farming will be given to the owners and will be available for school visits, and other groups that request it.
Finally, Visitación Martínez and the Councilor for Environment, delivered a rosemary plant to the winners who attended the inauguration of the gardens.
