The Councilor for Social Welfare, Francisca Pelegrín, accompanied by Pedro J. Sánchez Martínez (Sports Coordinator of Aidemar), Manuel Guillen Carrión (Manager of your Alberguejt and President of CDA Levante), Sonia Lorca Manzano (President Adapted Sports Club Murcia) and the Psychologist of Social Services of the City Council, Pilar Martínez Invernón, today presented the first days of Sports and Disability that will be held on the occasion of the International Day of People with Disabilities.
Thus, on the occasion of the "International Day of People with Disabilities", next Sunday, December 2, the City Council organizes the "I Days of Disability and Sports" that will take place in the Youth Hostel in the town with the goal to "raise awareness about disability, offering the opportunity to learn about adapted sports and the experiences of these athletes who daily overcome their difficulties and achieve great success" said the councilor of the Francisca Pelegrín area.
For her part, Pilar Martínez Invernón has detailed the program of activities that begins on Sunday at 9.00 am with the stand of the participating associations.
From 11:00 am there will be Inclusive Basketball (UCAM BSR).
From 12:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m., you can enjoy an Aidemar Inclusive Football Match to make way for the reading of the institutional manifesto in commemoration of the International Day of Persons with Disabilities at 1:00 p.m.
To finish with an activity in the Climbing Wall (CME THIAR)
The activities programmed by the Department of Social Welfare, in collaboration with the Federation of Murcia Associations of People with Physical and Organizational Disability (FANDIF-COCEMFE), Aidemar, the Adapted Swimming Club of the Region of Murcia and the Adapted CD Levante, are directed to families, and especially to children and young people who can participate in different circuits in wheelchair basketball, football and climbing wall) and check for themselves the accessibility difficulties that this group faces.
