Last night was held in the Baron Museum of Benifayó, the eighth edition of the Days of History and Archeology that were born with the intention of publicizing the heritage of Pinar del Rio in all its facets (history, archeology, ethnography, etc).
On this occasion, the protagonists were the windmills and the presentation was given by Manuel Mateo, President of the Wind Mills Association of Torre Pacheco who was accompanied by Fuensanta García, Councilor for Citizen Participation, Lidia Sánchez Rufete, councilor of Commerce and Marcos David Gracia, president of the Friends of Museums Association.
Manuel Mateo is also an official of the Ministry of the Interior and belongs to several Associations of a cultural nature such as the Rural League of Campo de Cartagena or Friends Association of the Monastery of San Ginés de la Jara, among others.
Mateo has always expressed his concern for the Heritage in general and the Mills in particular, his banner being the dissemination, knowledge and protection of these as he left patent last night before the large audience that attended the conference.
In previous editions, the days focused on the Via Augusta crosses the Pinatarenses borders, the Lo Pagán foundation last year by Gertrudis Brígida Pagán, granddaughter of Pedro Pagán Ayuso, the Sima de las Palomasa by Juan Carlos Blanco Gago, discoverer of the Neanderthal jaw of the Cabezo Gordo and the endearing "Historía de Juguetes Payá", by Raimundo Payá, descendant of this illustrious toy family.
