The mayor of San Pedro del Pinatar, Visitación Martínez, and the Councilor for Education, Guadalupe García, participated today in an event organized by the City Council, in collaboration with the educational community, with the aim of explaining and putting value to the Spanish Constitution on its fortieth anniversary.
In this meeting students from third and fourth grade of the eight schools of the town participated.
Thus, on a large flag of Spain, as a tapestry, and with the help of the mayor, the councilor, and the animator Carmen Heredia, the children have reviewed basic concepts included in the Constitution, which they have previously studied in class, as what rights and fundamental duties, what is the language and the official flag or what are the powers of the State.
In addition, to commemorate this anniversary the children have jointly composed a letter for the national anthem in which they highlight the value of the Constitution and of Spain as a country.
To end this "Constitution party" the children have sung their own anthem while some of their colleagues hoisted the flags of the Region of Murcia, San Pedro del Pinatar and Spain.
The City of San Pedro del Pinatar joins the commemoration of the fortieth anniversary of the Spanish Constitution, which will include on December 6, the traditional raising of flags in the same plaza Luis Molina, by local authorities, accompanied by the municipal band Musical Union.
