This is the main reason for the authorization to use the esplanade of the port of Lo Pagan granted to the Fishermen's Association of San Pedro del Pinatar.
The administrative concession will have a ten-year renewable term and will facilitate the work of the fishermen, since they will be able to use this space located in the vicinity of the fish market to dry their nets and will enable them to carry out guided tours.
The counselor Patricio Valverde today presented the administrative concession for the exploitation of these regional facilities during a meeting with the president of the Brotherhood of San Pedro del Pinatar, Jesus Antonio Gomez, which framed in the regional initiative of opening regional ports to society .
Valverde stressed that San Pedro del Pinatar presents certain singularities that make "we bet decidedly to promote the dissemination of the traditional fishing arts of the Mar Menor, both with training, with activities aimed at school, as tourist."
"The culture of the sector of small and medium-sized fishing companies in San Pedro is characterized by quality and respect for the environment and the sustainability of the Mar Menor," said the counselor, adding that this area represents the largest fleet of minor arts. of the Region of Murcia.
The regional manager explained that, in addition to the aquatic and underwater activities, "fishermen can also favor tourism seasonality by offering leisure activities and alternatives related to traditional fishing throughout the year."
