The municipalities of the Mar Menor will host from December 14 to 16 the first phase of the championship of Spain regional selections sub 15 and sub 17 of women's football, with the participation of the regional teams of Murcia, Balearic Islands, Navarra and Asturias.
The councilors of Sports of San Pedro del Pinatar, Javier Castejón, and San Javier, Estíbaliz Masegosa, and the sport director of the Murcian Football Federation, Jesús Rosagro, today presented the national championships of Autonomous Selections of Autonomous Selections sub 15 and sub 17 that are celebrated from December 14 to 16 in these municipalities.
The soccer fields José Antonio Pérez, of Lo Pagán, and Pitín, of San Javier, will host this first phase of the group B, which the regional selections of Murcia, Balearic Islands, Navarre and Asturias dispute.
The Councilor for Sports of San Pedro del Pinatar, Javier Castejón, stressed the importance of this tournament that will accommodate the birthplace of women's football in the Mar Menor, at the time of the tourist opportunity that these championships held out of season high for coastal municipalities such as San Pedro and San Javier.
For its part, the mayor of San Javier has highlighted the historical moment that is currently living in women's sport and has influenced the need to support and promote this type of championships that put women's football.
The sports director of the FFRM, Jesús Rosagro, praised the disposition of both municipalities, as well as the support of the sponsors, such as the insurance brokerage Gesa Mediación, Cementos La Cruz and Pinatar Arena.
In addition, he has announced the alignments of the Murcia Regional teams in the sub 15 and under 17 categories, among which are two local players, Grace Ann Foy and Laia Palafox, respectively, both of FC Pinatar Feminas.
