The mayor of San Pedro del Pinatar, Visitación Martínez, and the artist from Pinar del Río, José Manuel Rebollo, today signed an agreement to transfer the sculptor to the Town Council an allegory of the municipality made of glass, which will be installed in the Town Hall.
This sculpture, elaborated in glass on a carved wooden base, is an allegory to the municipality that unites typical elements of the town such as the blades of a salt mill, the sea, the fishermen's nets or the 'keys' of San Pedro, between others.
José Manuel Rebollo, self-taught, always showed concern for art, mainly sculpture, which led him more than 30 years ago to start his work by shaping the glass to make imaginary scenes come true.
The Baron de Benifayó museum hosted last month an exhibition of his work, which was visited by more than 600 people.
In addition, the sculptor gave away one of his sculptures that was raffled among those attending the show.
