The concessionaire of the water supply, Aqualia, has begun the renovation of the supply and sewerage network, which will involve the installation of almost 45 kilometers of pipes and more than 3,700 connections.
The mayor of San Pedro del Pinatar, Visitation Martinez, today explained the details of this important work to be carried out within two years and will involve an investment of more than 5 million euros for the improvement of the drinking water network and sewerage in several neighborhoods of the town.
Thus, almost 44.8 kilometers of potable water pipeline and 1,855 meters of sewer lines will be replaced.
In addition, 3,770 residential connections will be renewed, which will translate into improved service and water pressure in more than 5,000 homes, benefiting 11,370 residents.
This work will be carried out in the neighborhoods Rivers, Los Cuarteros, Villananitos, Las Charcas, Maspalomas, Alcaraz neighborhood, urban center, Los Tárragas, Los Sáez, El Mojón and Nuevo San Pedro.
In addition to improving the service in the homes, with more water pressure, supply cuts due to breakdowns will be reduced to a minimum and water losses will also be significantly reduced.
The works in Los Saez are currently under construction, with the renovation of the sewerage collector, and the replacement of the drinking water supply network in Villananitos, which is expected to be completed by the end of March.
The mayor and the town councilors, Pedro Javier Sánchez, and Barrios and Pedanías, Ángela Gaona, visited the technical office of the work, located at Aqualia's facilities in the town (C / Floridablanca), next to the Aqualia delegate in the Region of Murcia, Miguel Ángel Jiménez, and the head of the Service in San Pedro del Pinatar, Agapito Pérez.
This new space will provide detailed information of the work to the affected neighbors, in addition it will be informed weekly of the water cuttings originated by the work and technical personnel will be in charge of informing previously and attending to the neighbors of the neighborhood in which the works are carried out.
