The Solidarity Basket project is financed with 31,500 euros to subsidize projects of local associations that collaborate with the distribution of food to families at risk of social exclusion, while 24,661 euros have been allocated to initiatives of socio-health associations at the local level .
The mayor of San Pedro del Pinatar, Visitación Martínez, together with the councilor of Participación Ciudadana, Fuensanta García, the director of the Mar Menor Business area of ​​Caixabank, Alberto Sánchez, and the director of the office of this entity in the municipality, Nuria Écija, today delivered the grants awarded in December 2018 to these two projects.
Visitación Martínez has highlighted the commitment of the City of San Pedro del Pinatar for the close, open and participatory policies, which advocate for deepening Corporate Social Responsibility and support for groups and associations that develop an important work at the social level.
Thus, he explained that the project Solidarity Basket, endowed with 31,500 euros, 30,000 of the municipal budget and 1,500 endowed by Obra Social La Caixa, aims to provide associations that collaborate with the Food Aid Plan of the Region, through the distribution of essential products to families at risk of social exclusion.
The beneficiary associations of this project are Cáritas Parroquial, with a subsidy of 22,300 euros, and Red Cross Mar Menor Norte, with 9,200 euros, aimed at solidarity breakfasts.
SOCIO-NATIONAL PROJECTS
During the event, subsidies were also given to local socio-health associations.
This line of aid is endowed with 24,661 euros in 2018, adding the contribution of 1,500 euros from Obra Social La Caixa.
The purpose is to contribute to the help and welfare of the sick and relatives of local associations working in this field.
Thus, seven projects have been subsidized in this area.
The Spanish Association Against Cancer has received 4,327 euros for the care of patients and relatives and collaboration with research;
the same amount has been given to Aidemar by the initiative "Family: Caring for the caregiver, achieve your well-being, know more, live better, take good care".
Cruz Roja Mar Menor Norte has obtained 4,327 euros for the expansion project of the orthoprosthetic bank and ASENFIFA will allocate the same amount to the adapted physiotherapy program in a marine spa for fibromyalgia patients.
For its part, AFEMAR has received 3,029 euros for the development of a new technology classroom for people with mental illness.
In addition, the Alcer Sureste association has obtained 2,162 euros for the project "Social care and family respite in the area of ​​kidney disease" and ADA Mar Menor has received the same amount for the implementation of adapted sailing courses and regattas for people with disabilities and reduced mobility.
