The City Council of San Pedro del Pinatar, recognized as Child Friendly City, and UNICEF will implement actions and programs aimed at improving living conditions, ensure comprehensive development and encourage the active participation of children and adolescents.
The mayor of San Pedro del Pinatar, Visitación Martínez, and the president of the UNICEF Committee Murcia, Amparo Marzal, today signed a collaboration agreement for the development of the Child Friendly Cities program, recognition granted to the City Council for the period 2018-2022 .
Under this agreement the City Council is committed to inform, sensitize and energize citizens, promote child participation, act on behalf of children in all possible areas according to their competencies and prestige their institutional activity, following the guidelines of UNICEF .
In addition, both institutions will maintain channels of communication and constant dialogue to improve and innovate in local policies for children and adolescents, promote spaces to generate proposals, as currently through the Local Council for Children and Adolescents, with representation of students from all the educational centers of the municipality.
The mayor highlighted the work of this advisory body and how the City Council gathers its suggestions and requests, as in the recent breakfast held with the new members of the Council.
Amparo Marzal thanked the sensitivity of the City of San Pedro del Pinatar with this group and recalled that the agreement signed today ratifies that common commitment in the defense and promotion of childhood and adolescence.
