The Murcia agency Tictag Digital Branding has been in charge of shaping the brand image and the web of the ambitious European project Life-SALINAS, a project co-financed by the EU LIFE instrument that seeks the conservation of waterfowl, dune habitats, salt steppes and Juniperus forests of the Regional Park of Salinas de San Pedro del Pinatar.
The logo, the designs, the social networks, all the photographic work and the web of the project has been a challenge for the Murcian agency, as its CEO Alejandro Garriga explains, "the client proposed us the challenge of creating an identity that relates the salt, the dunes and the sea, without losing the most characteristic elements such as the migratory birds that inhabit Las Salinas ".
The company Byocima is responsible for all the content of the web, while Tictag is responsible for everything related to technical support and image.
"There were many elements to unify in a single identity so we had to play with shapes, colors and colors, and turn a character into the profile of one of the most emblematic birds, the avoceta.
We finally arrived at a result that pleased all the team involved in the project, "adds Garriga.
In this way, he explains that they used as main characteristic "the wavy cut of the letters alluding to the dunes of both salt and sand, this detail is the most identifying because with this section we identify any publication of the project in posters, social networks, merchandising, website ".
"The colors chosen are taken from the photographs we made ourselves for the project, they are colors that identify the area: the sea, the salt pans, the rosy tones and sea water," underlines the CEO of Tictag Digital Branding.
LIFE-SALINAS
This interesting project, based on sustainable development and with a budget of 1.7 million euros, seeks to improve the conservation of species of fauna and priority habitats in the European Union, as well as to value the ecosystem services with the increase in production and improvement of salt quality.
The main objective is the conservation of one species, the Audouin gull and two priority habitats in the EU, such as the Mediterranean salt steppes (Limonietalia) and the coastal dunes with Juniperus spp.
Along with this objective, the saline circuit located north of Las Salinas is also being remodeled and 1,800 meters of new salt mines adapted, making salt production less affected by storms. This way, the nesting habitat of the Audouin gull and 7 other nesting species of Annex I of the Birds Directive: common avocet, common stilt, black-footed plover, common tern, little tern, black-legged tern and black-footed boar.
Likewise, the water circulation of the Coterillo pond will be improved through the conditioning of the water inlet channel and the creation of a new outlet channel.
Thus, a habitat for the congregation and feeding of the Audouin gull is rehabilitated, in addition to recovering the population of Fartet and favoring 5 bat species of Annex II of the Habitat Directive.
It is also important for wintering, migration and nesting of 32 species of birds of Annex I of the Birds Directive.
Improve priority habitat conservation
LIFE-Salinas also plans to stop the erosion of the dune system of La Llana beach by installing sand collectors in the first 500 meters of the dunes located at the entrance to the beach;
and control of exotic-invasive plant species throughout the protected area, affecting the priority habitats: Agave americana, Carpobrotus acinaciformis, Eucalyptus camaldulensis, Nicotiana glauca and Myoporum acuminatum, indirectly favoring 12 other habitats of Annex I of the Habitat Directive.
It will also provide continuity and transfer the results of the LIFE Salinas project;
will establish a long-term territory custody agreement with Salinera Española, for the development of conservation actions of 2 priority habitats, the Audouin gull and other species and habitats of European legislation;
will value ecosystem services, increasing the production and quality of salt;
and will design and implement a quality and environmental protection certificate for salt from Las Salinas, especially those included in the Natura 2000 Network.
The scope of action will be the Regional Park of the Salinas and Arenales of San Pedro del Pintar, with an area of 856 hectares and about 6 kilometers of coastline, is located in the northernmost portion of the coast of the Region of Murcia.
It includes land included in the municipal terms of San Pedro del Pinatar and San Javier, the latter to the south of the area (Las Encañizadas area).
ACTIONS
Together with the Preparatory Actions, such as the drafting of technical documents for conservation actions or the voluntary agreement of the Custody of the Territory, other conservation measures are established: adaptation of specks with native material from the salt substratum, connection of the pond of Coterillo with the salt circuit, stabilization and reinforcement of the dune ecosystem of La Llana beach, revegetation with native species in the dunes of the beach of Coterillo and enhancement of the environmental services of the habitats through the control of Invasive Alien Species.
Finally, the results of these actions will be monitored, with a biological monitoring program, with monitoring of stabilization actions and reinforcement of the dune ecosystem of La Llana beach for erosion control, monitoring of the actions of revegetation of native species habitats, the follow-up of the actions of strengthening the environmental services of priority habitats through the control of IAS and the evaluation of the socio-economic impact and of the ecosystem services.
Along with this, a campaign of public awareness and dissemination of results will be carried out.
