San Pedro del Pinatar celebrates International Women's Day with different activities related to culture, education and empowerment, which aim to reclaim the role of women in today's society.
The Councilor for Equality, Guadalupe García, presented today, in the framework of the Entre Nosotras cycle, the activities scheduled to mark the commemoration of International Women's Day on March 8, with the aim of raising awareness about the importance of equal opportunities and sensitize to advance towards real equality.
Thus, the activities framed on this day begin tomorrow, Thursday, February 28, with the cycle "Woman, love you, take care of yourself and value yourself", in collaboration with the Association of Families and Women of the Rural Environment AFAMMER, with the lecture "Empode yourself, tools for the prevention of situations of inequality "followed by four workshops on March 5, 7, 12 and 14 to favor the empowerment and development of self-esteem.
The activities will continue on March 6 the presentation "Reinforce your feeling of worth" and on day 12, "The most common conflicts of couples, how to overcome them", taught by psychologist Yolanda Lanjarín.
On March 8, with the official act of commemoration of International Women's Day, which will include the reading of the official manifesto, by the mayor, Visitación Martínez, in addition to the delivery of the eighth edition of the photography contest "With M of Woman ", and whose winning photograph is the image of the programming of this day.
Note the high participation in this edition with a total of 144 works presented.
The prizes of the third short story contest "For Equality between Women and Men" will also be awarded, aimed at secondary and high school students, who through their works have shown different views on equality and the gender issue in 21 jobs.
In the afternoon, the acts will be moved to the plaza in Spain where the poetry and art festival "Grito de Mujer" will be held, starting at 5:30 p.m., with the aim of paying tribute to women and against violence.
The authors are Gudea De Lagash, María Luisa González Cid, Tania Fernández, Gemma Bocardo, Charo García, Francisco Ferrer Carbonell and Santiago Ricardo Hernández.
The act will end with the performance of Rock Experience.
The acts will continue on Wednesday March 20 with the presentation "the woman portrayed in art" on Thursday, the second edition of the Poetry and Art Festival "Grito de Mujer" will be held in the afternoon with the slogan "Cry for me "in the Plaza de España.
On Friday, March 23, there will be a day of coexistence in the Balneario de Archena and finally, on Wednesday, March 27, the reading club Salicornia will be added to this commemoration with the play "Madame Bobary" by Gustave Flaubert.
In addition, the councilor stressed that this year the IES Dos Mares joins the program of events with the conference "Emergence of Feminism in Estaña" by the professor of Geography and History, Sergio Máximo Castaño to be held on March 8 at the House of Culture and has indicated that during this quarter will begin activities aimed at promoting equality among school children like "Meet my disability" and "Educate as equals".
