The Ministry of Development and Infrastructure has begun today the works of adaptation of the accesses to the area of the port of Villa de San Pedro in the municipality of San Pedro del Pinatar, which will involve a regional investment of about 80,000 euros.
The general director of Transport, Coasts and Port, José Ramón Díez de Revenga, today presented the action that will have a deadline of one month, and "will mean a reinforcement of the safety of the users of the facilities and an improvement of the environment in the vicinity of the dry dock ".
The action consists of adapting access to the south pier from the outside of the enclosure in a safe manner, so that the current access that crosses the facilities where the works of the dry dock are developed will be eliminated.
Likewise, a drainage channel will be built to achieve "zero discharge" and thus lead the runoff waters through a hydrocarbon separation chamber, where they are conveniently treated before being discharged to the interior sanitation network of the port, which at its once connects with the municipal network.
