The municipal tent hosted a Carnival Welcome Gala last night that started with a spectacular dance number inspired by classic cabaret, by the Kebanna ballet, followed by the fun battle between Don Carnal and Doña Cuaresma, by Ángel Macia and María José Vicente, from the comparsa 'Como tú quieras'.

The members of this comparsa, with more than 20 years of experience at the Pinar del Rio Carnival, delighted the audience with a fun staging of the classic battle, peppered with popular songs.

Later, the mayor of San Pedro del Pinatar, Visitation Martinez, and the councilman of Celebrations, Javier Castejón, made delivery of the Carnival Mask 2019 to the comparsa of the Nursery School No. 1, for his participation for years in the carnival local and to promote this festive spirit among the little ones.

The gala continued with the performance of the dance group 'Kimbara', from Torre Pacheco, which gave way to the presentation of the local troupes that will participate in the Sunday parade, such as Kebanna, The Golden Years, Güeno Hair, How you want, Colegio Los Pinos, Housewives, Nursery School N ° 1, Glamorous Stars, Kalochi Kaló, La Ola del Mar Menor and ADAPT.

There will also be about thirty visiting troupes.

The night continued with the tribute to the people, groups and associations that, for their contribution to this celebration, have obtained since 2000 the 'Carnival Mask' award;

such as the Amas de Casa Association, Francisca Pelegrín (Los Molinos Comparsa), Eustaquio Espinosa, Maribel Zapata (Coppelia Academy), José María Henarejos, Javier Castejón, Carmen Toro, Laureano Martínez, Trinidad Martínez (Comparsa La Alegría), José María Pardo and Ascensión Moya (posthumously), Comparsa Los Años Dorados, AIDEMAR, Peña El Caldero, Laura Martinez (Kebanna Ballet), Marisol Arenas, La Llana Association, San Pedro Civil Protection Team, Fina Sánchez (La Ola del Mar Menor ), comparsa 'Cómo Tú Quieras' and Escuela Infantil N ° 1.

The gala culminated with the DragQueen show in charge of Drag Nebula, Sirio Star and Drag Perseida and the end of party of Ballet Kebanna.

The carnival continues today in San Pedro del Pinatar with activities for the little ones until 8:00 p.m. in the Plaza de la Constitución and will have its final finale on Sunday, starting at 5:00 p.m., with the great Carnival parade .
