The Department of Youth participates in this project that tries to involve young people in global issues in order to end poverty or help protect the planet.
The Youth Hostel of San Pedro del Pinatar hosts this week training workshops of the European project "Global education begins in your town", coordinated by the Cazalla Intercultural Association and the Autonomous Community in eight municipalities of the Region aimed at young people between 14 and 30 years.
The program is a three-year project, funded by the Europe Aid program of the European Commission, involving 30 towns with fewer than 50,000 inhabitants in countries such as Spain, Bulgaria, Cyprus, Austria, Slovenia and Lithuania.
The focus of this project is to address the objectives of sustainable development, also known as the Global Objectives, which are a universal call for action to end poverty, protect the planet and ensure that all people enjoy peace. and prosperity.
The municipalities of San Javier, San Pedro del Pinatar, Mazarrón, Pliego, Blanca, Ulea will participate in this project and through the Casa Europa association will be held in Bullas, Cehegín and Calasparra.
The program started in May 2018 and now in San Pedro there is a balance of the actions that have been carried out in the different municipalities, in addition to deepen training and strengthen ties between the different entities attached.
All the educational events of the project employ methodologies based on principles of non-formal education and focused on the participants, oriented to dialogue and practices.
San Pedro del Pinatar has implemented several activities of this type within the Healthy Alternative Leisure Program, such as healthy cooking workshops or recycling, among others.
