The Beaches Unit and Citizen Security patrols conducted several operations last summer aimed at eradicating street vending that resulted in the seizure of counterfeit products such as sports shoes, clothing, sunglasses or electronic material.
The Local Police of San Pedro del Pinatar has recently proceeded to destroy the merchandise seized during the summer by the Playas unit and the Citizen Security patrols, in the framework of operations aimed at the eradication of street vending in the town.
Thus, in these actions, a thousand pairs of shoes, 750 textile garments, more than 500 sunglasses and more than 3,000 CDs and DVDs were confiscated.
The councilman of Police, Angela Gaona has explained that it is counterfeit material, seized in different actions with which it was possible to eradicate street vending in tourist areas, such as boardwalks during the summer campaign.
On the other hand, it has reported that a special security device has been coordinated for the Holy Week campaign, which will include measures such as a greater presence of Citizen Security patrols, reinforcement of the Secure Trade campaign, with agents on foot through the town , as well as a greater police presence in the beach areas.
