The processional parades of the Pinataranse Holy Week began on Friday night, April 12, with the stature of the sculptor José Sánchez Lozano as the protagonist.
The brotherhood of the Virgen de los Dolores, one of the longest of the Holy Week in Pinar del Rio, presided yesterday the first of the solemn processions this year, accompanied also by the band of cornets and drums of San Juan and the brotherhood of the Holy Grail .
This procession is the prelude to the Week of Passion, the Virgin, relives the suffering of her son who, according to tradition, is represented by a heart pierced by seven daggers.
The procession left at 21:00 hours from the Plaza de la Constitución, in front of the church of San Pedro Apóstol.
The parade was opened by the San Juan Evangelista drums, followed by the Third and Throne of the Holy Grail, in which the great candles carried by the Nazarenes stood out.
The parade followed the titular third of the Virgen de los Dolores and a large group of manola.
It closed the procession on the throne of the Virgin of Los Dolores, the official retinue and the Musical Union Music Band of San Pedro del Pinatar.
The processional processions continue on Palm Sunday, at 11:00 am, with the procession of Las Palmas and Jesus Triunfante, who join this year for the first time and, at 8:00 pm, the procession of the Prendimiento.
