Neighbors and faithful of the coastal district of Lo Pagán accompanied the throne of the Christ of the Mar Menor from the church of Nuestra Seńora del Carmen to the Chapel of La Asunción in Villananitos.
The Holy Week of San Pedro del Pinatar celebrated on the night of Holy Wednesday, April 17, one of its most singular processions, the Way of the Cross of the Christ of the Mar Menor, in which the 14 stations of the Passion and the Calvary of Jesus Christ.
This event brought together hundreds of faithful in the coastal district that accompanied the image of the Christ of the Mar Menor, the work of the Murcian sculptor Antonio García Mengual and who has been processioning since 1992 in the Holy Week in Pinar del Rio.
The parish priest of Lo Pagán guided the prayer of this Way of the Cross of the Christ of the Mar Menor, which carries out a large part of its journey parallel to the sea carried on its shoulders by 40 portapasos, together with hundreds of faithful and the official retinue, formed by the mayor , Visitación Martínez;
the Minister of Water, Agriculture, Livestock and Fisheries, Miguel Ángel del Amor;
members of the Municipal Corporation, representatives of the Holy Week Cabildo and other civil and military authorities.
