This meeting is part of the "Unmissable" program of Unicef, through which the participation of children and young people in local politics is encouraged.
The plenary hall of the City of San Pedro del Pinatar hosted the afternoon of Wednesday, May 8, a meeting between members of the Council for Children and Adolescents, and candidates from different political parties to the municipal elections on May 26 .
This activity is part of the "Las imprescindibles" program of the Child Friendly Cities network of UNICEF, with the aim of making visible the demands of children and adolescents and putting the rights of children at the center of the political agenda.
Thus, after previous meetings to share demands and ideas, the members of the Council proposed education in values ​​in educational centers, child participation in the preparation of electoral programs;
more leisure and spaces aimed at teenagers, a municipal game zone, a pine forest with a picnic area, the creation of a point of care for children and adolescents and the creation of a map of youth resources.
Children and young people transferred these proposals to the candidates for the mayor's office: Visitación Martínez (Popular Party), José Luis Ros (Citizens);
Sergio Pérez (IU-Win San Pedro) and Jaime Colina (United We Can).
