This event, organized by the Union of Pinatarenses Entrepreneurs, gathered hundreds of people and their pets throughout the morning in different activities such as rescue and training exhibitions or the VII Canine Beauty Contest.
The Esplanade of Lo Pagán hosted for the seventh consecutive year the celebration of the Day of the Dog, an activity organized by the Union of Employers Pinatarenses with the collaboration of the City of San Pedro del Pinatar, and whose main objective is to disclose and encourage respect for animals, in collaboration with associations and protectors.
The event included the seventh edition of the National Beauty Dog Show, in which dogs of different breeds participated.
The podiúm was composed in third place by the rough collie of María Azahara Nieto, Panda Bear from Villa Zarza;
in second position, the golden retriever of Igancio Jordá, Massak del Pi Negre;
and in the first place Cijara Natan, an Alaskan malamute by Alicia Serna.

In addition, several training exhibitions were held, coordinated by Ayocan Dog Trainers and in which collectives such as Deanacaona, Educa-Dog, the Military Emergency Unit, etc. will participate.
Several protective shelters and associations working at a regional level in the defense and care of animals were also installed, which made their work known during the day.
At around 1:00 p.m. La Puntica beach hosted the aquatic rescue exhibition, in charge of the rescue group Grescan, in which lifeguards and dogs of different breeds showed their skills in situations of risk.
The day concluded with the delivery of the Bruno Awards, which in this edition was awarded to Quinto, a dog that for almost a decade belonged to the Military Emergency Unit in Valencia-Bétera, standing out for its ability in detection, being a military champion of rescue and participating in important search and rescue operations such as the earthquake in Lorca, or the floods of Sant Llorenç (Mallorca) last summer.
This award was also given to the Protective Association of abandoned dogs of Los Belones, with more than 30 years of experience and that rescues hundreds of animals a year thanks to the work of dozens of volunteers.
Finally, a donation from Kiwoko was also given to the participating associations and protectors.
