The mayor of San Pedro del Pinatar, Visitación Martínez, and the councilor for Tourism, Silvia Egea, met today with Manuel Rodríguez, head of the consultancy Equipo Funambula, to evaluate the results of the Paraíso Salado initiative, which last year was financed by GALPEMUR with funds from the FEMP for the development of actions aimed at highlighting the coastline and fishing as a tourist attraction.
Thus, through this line of subsidy and the support of the Fishermen's Association and various sponsors, the City Council launched the First Gastronomic Demonstration of Live Shrimp 2018.
For this reason, GALPEMUR has selected the project as an example of good practices and has carried out the evaluation visit of the last call by Equipo Funambula, which provides technical assistance to the projects of diversification and sustainable development of the coast of the Region. of Murcia.
The City Council of San Pedro del Pinatar is already working on the project for the 2019 call for European funds through GALPEMUR, in order to reissue and value events such as the Live Fair, which value traditional fishing and the local product as a tourist reference.
