The Patchwork Mar Menor association, of San Pedro del Pinatar, celebrated today, June 12, the "Patchwork Day in the street", showing the works made by hand during the course and sewing throughout the day, although for the strong wind have made this encounter inside 'La Mercería' and not on the street as on previous occasions.
The Association, chaired by Pilar Vicent, meets to carry out sewing workshops in the collaborative trade La Mercería, run by María José Sánchez, and to share patchwork techniques with which they make home and dress garments, quilts, cushions, aprons and other accessories of great originality.
The councilman of Commerce, Lydia Sanchez, has praised the initiative of this association that brings together dozens of women around this hobby, as well as the willingness of the associated trade to carry out activities in it.
