The current president of the Brotherhood of San Pedro Apóstol, a native of Pinar del Rio and a lover of his town, reviewed in his proclamation announcer anecdotes and moments shared by many of the attendees, and claimed the benefits of the municipality of San Pedro del Pinatar.
Alfonso Pérez Gómez, president of the Brotherhood of San Pedro Apóstol for more than 25 years, has developed much of his professional life in the City Council and is known by everyone for his involvement in the festivities, Holy Week or parish activity .
Sheltered by family, friends and neighbors, Alfonso Pérez, reviewed parts of his life, always in San Pedro del Pinatar, from his childhood and youth in the neighborhood of Los Sáez, until his time as a worker in the municipal warehouse, where he faced episodes such as floods of 1987, or its beginnings in the Brotherhood of San Pedro Apóstol, being a boy that approached the door of the church to help to carry on shoulders to the landlord.
The preacher highlighted in his proclamation how the municipality has progressed in the last decades, an advance that is also seen in the festivities, limited before to the stalls where you sold 'torraos' and several fairground wheels, while now there is a new fairground and a wide program of activities.
The town crier recalled with nostalgia and affection those parties of his youth, in which he walked with his now wife, in a village then of fishermen, farmers and salineros that over the years has evolved and grown, opening up to other sectors.
Alfonso called to enjoy the festivities and also encouraged the youngest to maintain traditions such as the Brotherhood of St. Peter the Apostle, key in the patron saint festivities, to praise acts such as the offering of fruits to the patron or the procession on June 29.
The mayor of the town, Visitación Martínez, thanked Alfonso Pérez for his emotional proclamation, of experiences and memories shared by many.
The event, held in the Parque de La Aduana, featured the performance of Javi Mota, and also included the farewell of the Queens and Courts of Honor of the Patron Saint Festivities 2018 and the presentation of the candidates this year, that this end of week they will live the gala of election and coronation on the same stage.
