The municipality returns this summer to host the International University of the Sea with two courses in the area of ​​health and education, which will be taught at the Center for Women, Equality and Social Services Agustina Santiago.

The mayor of San Pedro del Pinatar, Visitación Martínez, and the director of the Universidad del Mar (UNIMAR), María José Portillo, accompanied by the Councilor for Education, Carmen María López, the co-director of the biomedical workshop, José Meseguer, and the coordinator of the theater and music course, Rosa Mª Pérez, today presented the training offer of the UNIMAR in the municipality, which will take place in September.

Visitación Martínez recalled that the collaboration between the City Council and the International University of the Sea (UNIMAR) dates back to 2001 and since then the municipality has been fortunate to host a diverse range of training in different areas of knowledge.

For her part, María José Portillo thanked the City for her collaboration in the thirty-sixth edition of these UNIMAR summer courses and has shown her commitment to continue working hand in hand with the city councils to bring the University closer to citizens, through projects like this.

Thus, San Pedro del Pinatar will host from September 2 to 6 the course 'Didactics of theater and applied music for teaching-learning the basic competence: learning to be' which aims to assess the training possibilities of theater and music applied, achieve the use of theater and music didactics as communicative and creative research tools, start a training in life skills and cooperatively develop a contextualized and strategic knowledge of basic competences.

On the other hand, from September 3 to 6 will be held in San Pedro del Pinatar for the sixth consecutive year the 'Workshop on biomedicine and quality of life', accredited as a course of health interest by the Ministry of Health and, among other issues, It addresses the importance of adequate nutrition, the prevention and care of diseases, the socio-health challenges of the aging of the population or the living will.
