The delivery of books will be made until July 23 from 9:00 pm to 11:00 pm at the Headquarters of the Bank of Books, in the Hotel of Associations located in the Avda del Taibilla.
The Councilor for Education, Carmen María López, accompanied by the Councilor for Social Welfare, Fuensanta García and the Councilor for Volunteering, Zoilo Ballester, visited the municipal book bank, managed by FAPA Pinatar.
The Municipal Book Bank (BLM), was born in 2014, through a proposal of the FAPA, with the support of the Department of Education that gives them their facilities in the Hotel Associations to manage and store the material and 5 computers.
Carmen María López, recalled last night that the City Council, in addition to direct aid for study and mobility at different levels, contributes to Fapa 10,000 euros to which this year they have added € 4,200 from Fapa for the purchase of books.
The new president of Fapa Pinatar, Laura Sánchez, indicated that 1374 books have been distributed to 234 families from Pinar del Rio and thanked the City Council and the volunteers coming from the different AMPAS of the municipality.
Until last year, 3rd and 4th grade of primary education were the levels served by the BLM, with the new Law 2/2018, of March 26, of Free Textbooks of the Autonomous Community of the Region of Murcia , as this year covers all elementary schools, the BLM will provide coverage for 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th of ESO and 1st and 2nd year of Bachillerato.
