Reduce waste production, encourage reuse and contribute to recycling, are the objectives of the campaign conducted by the Department of Environment in collaboration with the Ecoembes entity, aimed at primary school students in the municipality, "Think with the Lungs."
Thus, through dynamic and entertaining games, a total of 523 people have been informed about the correct management of waste, as well as the small actions that can be carried out to reduce them and promote recycling.
The campaign was held on August 5, 6 and 8 through an information point in the weekly markets and on August 12, 14 and 16 on the beaches of Villananitos-La Mota, El Mojón and La Puntica , with the objective of clarifying concepts on the deposit of waste and making known to the public the benefits of recycling to improve the collaboration of the neighbors in the selective collection, distributing bags for the separation of waste in the home to the participants.
The selective collection data recorded during the year 2019 are exceeding the amounts of previous years, hoping that this trend will continue upward until the end of the year with the gradual change of containers to others of greater capacity.
