The homes of the local pensioner and the Department of Social Welfare offer each course different activities and courses aimed at promoting active aging.
The Department of Social Welfare of San Pedro del Pinatar has extended this course 29019-2020 the program aimed at seniors that takes place in the homes of the pensioner of San Pedro and Lo Pagán, with three new workshops of new technologies, memory and relaxation.
The objective of these courses is to promote healthy, active and healthy aging among the elders of the locality, increasing their personal well-being and social relations.
Therefore, from the pensioner's homes, as centers of reference for the elderly in the town, different leisure programs and plans are developed aimed at strengthening this active aging, such as gerontogimnasia, taichi, yoga, theater, ballroom dancing courses, singing, and painting and crafts.
To this consolidated offer, this course is added to the workshop on the use of tablets and mobiles for the elderly, with the aim of bringing new technologies to this group and introducing them to the use of the Internet, since the use of communication technologies is for older people a tool that facilitates new opportunities for social participation.
Another novelty in this edition is the memory workshop, aimed at older people in a group way to promote training and care of cognitive functions, stimulate and enhance the social network of the elderly.
The pensioner's homes will also host this course a relaxation workshop, to learn to control deep breathing and get physical and emotional rest.
Entries in any of the courses and workshops offered are held on Tuesdays, from 10 to 12 hours, at the home "Raimundo Benedicto", in San Pedro del Pinatar and on Wednesdays, at the same time, in the center "José Espinosa Nicolás ", from Lo Pagán.
