The solidarity project "Do you want to be my friend?"
which creates, through 3D technology, personalized cancer boxes for children with cancer, has won this award nationwide.
The mayor of San Pedro del Pinatar, Visitación Martínez, today received the director of the IES Manuel Tárraga Escribano, Sebastián García, the professor responsible for the Sergio Marín project, and a representation of students from the center to congratulate them on the awards recently obtained by the project " You want to be my friend?".
Through the Department of Technology, and thanks to 3D printing, the students of the center create personalized cancer boxes for children suffering from cancer treated at the Virgen de La Arrixaca hospital.
In addition, once the treatment is finished, patients are left with the motifs that decorate these fun boxes.
This project, in which AFACMUR also collaborates, has recently been recognized with the "Magisterial Action 2019" high school award, an award convened by FAD and BBVA, aims to reward and publicize educational projects of educational social innovation and promotion of social values ​​developed in the classroom
A total of 348 educational projects that students, teachers and AMPA have developed during the 2018-2019 academic year have participated in the fifteenth edition of this award.
In addition, the center has recently received the plaque of honor of the Civil Order of Alfonso X El Sabio, which grants the Ministry of Education to individuals and institutions for the merits contracted in the fields of education, science, culture, teaching and research
