The Golden Age Association of Messengers of Peace of Murcia and the City Council of San Pedro del Pinatar have signed a collaboration agreement for the execution of this project that aims to provide advice and support to older dependents and caregivers in order to extend their stay in the familiar surroundings.
The mayor of San Pedro del Pinatar, Visitación Martínez, and the manager of the Golden Age Association of Messengers of Peace Murcia, Agustín García, have signed this agreement today for the implementation of this accompaniment program in solitude and home support, destined mainly for dependent over 60 years and their caregivers.
Under this agreement, the professionals of Messengers of Peace will offer for one year advice to the beneficiaries of this service with the objective of improving the level of functional autonomy of the dependents and the psychosocial quality of caregivers, with the objective of achieving extend their permanence in their family environment.
This service will be provided by professionals from different areas such as social work, physiotherapy, nursing and psychology, who will advise the users of this program on basic care that family members must perform daily, postural hygiene measures to prevent osteoarticular injuries and adequate techniques for adaptation from the sick to his surroundings.
They will also receive psychological support for the caregiver, advice on the management of complicated situations in the day to day with patients, training of self-care skills, etc.
This program will be carried out with 20 users, over 60 years of age and registered in the locality, who will be selected by a technical commission, composed of those responsible for the Golden Age Association of Messengers of Peace and professionals of the Department of Social Welfare, who They will individually assess each case and its needs.
Visitation Martínez has thanked the Messengers of Peace that San Pedro del Pinatar has chosen to develop this program that represents an improvement in care and services to the agency.
Likewise, he has highlighted the great work that is already being carried out in the town in front of one of the town's nursing home, with a hundred users.
