The City Council develops a pilot project of community and domestic composting, financed by the Environmental Promotion Plan in the waste sector, of the Ministry of Ecological Transition and which involves the distribution of more than 20 composters for private gardens and orchards.
The Department of Environment develops the second phase of this project, which began with the distribution of these composters in municipal ecological gardens, school gardens and the municipal ecopark.
In this second phase, residents who have orchards or gardens and want to create organic fertilizer through the reuse of domestic remains can request one of the composters assigned, by public call by the City Council.
Thus, the City Council will freely grant 23 composters, aerators and thermometers to the participants in the project, in addition to offering training and advice on their use and the loan of bi-shredders.
Those interested in participating in this project must submit their application from November 28 to December 9 to the Department of Environment.
In the event that the number of applications exceeds the number of composters and that all of them meet the requirements, a public lottery will be held on December 11.
Applicants must be registered in the locality, be of legal age, and have the necessary space for the composter to perform his function (minimum plot of 50 square meters).
