The Department of Social Welfare has scheduled various talks, workshops and activities aimed at raising awareness and raising awareness about violence against women in different areas.
The Councilor for Social Welfare, Fuensanta García, and the psychologist of the Municipal Specialized Care Point for victims of Gender-based violence, Mª Ángeles García, today presented at a press conference the activities scheduled for November 25.
The councilor has also indicated that the Department of Social Welfare is working permanently in training and preventive actions aimed at promoting equality in all areas.
In addition, since July, a permanent Point of Attention to Victims of gender-based violence has been incorporated into the resources of this area.
In addition to attending to the victims, between October and March, the person responsible for this point also conducts awareness workshops against gender violence in educational centers, under the heading "Turn around toxic relationships".
Within the framework of these workshops, the first poster contest "Turn around abuse" has also been held.
The winning drawing is the one that illustrates the campaign of this 25N, made by Noelia Nicolás Fernández, of the IES Dos Mares.
As for the public event on November 25, he explained that this year it will be held in the Plaza de la Constitución, to give it greater visibility, and will feature the interventions of users of the Aidemar Day Center, students of the Los Pinos public school and of the Manuel Tárraga Escribano and Dos Mares institutes.
In addition, the act will have the reading of the institutional manifesto against Gender Violence, by the mayor and throughout the day will be informed of the different resources available through 3 violet points, located in the square itself and in both local institutes, which will provide information on resources for the care of Women Victims of Violence and that have an image made in their design by the Extensive Support Workshops of the Aidemar Day Center of San Pedro del Pinatar.
The events will continue on November 26, with a coffee gathering aimed at the Roma woman, organized by the Gypsy Development Program and PAE in Social Services, and on 27 a talk on gender cyberviolence, given by Afammer psychologist María Araceli Rodríguez , also in this center.
On November 28 there will be a more playful activity, an inclusive dance workshop, taught by Isabel López Pérez, at the Center for Leisure and Emerging Arts, aimed at promoting women's empowerment and networking.
To conclude this week of activities, on November 29, the program "La Pecera Radio speaks of gender violence" will be broadcast, on Radio Pinatar, starting at 10:15 am, organized by Aidemar.
