The process of Participatory Budgeting 2020 has been closed with a high participation rate, registering a total of 1874 votes through the municipal website and qualified contact points.
The process of Participatory Budgeting 2020 in San Pedro del Pinatar has had a great reception among the social fabric of the town, which has resulted in a high level of participation, both in the phase of debate and presentation of proposals, which It concluded with 19 projects in very varied fields, such as voting.
Thus, the Councilor for Citizen Participation, Zoilo Ballester, has valued this process, aimed at providing greater co-responsibility in municipal management and the promotion of transparency.
In this regard, he recalled that throughout the process there have been face-to-face workshops between different groups, where several of the proposals submitted to the vote emerged.
The proposal that has obtained greater acceptance, with a total of 428 votes, has been the creation of a dynamic outdoor auditorium for the Juan Martínez Juliá Leisure, Leisure and Emerging Arts Center, valued at 200,000 euros and that will mean that young people from the town and other groups will have a more adapted space for the development of different events and activities.
In addition, this area will be provided with shade and the exteriors will be leveled to make them more accessible and to develop more activities.
The exterior of the center will also be equipped with a healthy leisure area for the development of physical activities.
The City Council of San Pedro del Pinatar thus consolidates its open government policy in this third call for Participatory Budgeting, in which the involvement of the neighbors has increased both in the realization of proposals, as in the assistance to the workshops and in the phase Voting
