These workshops, taught by physiotherapists, will address how to improve the daily lives of people suffering from diseases such as osteoporosis, osteoarthritis or fibromyalgia.
The Councilor for Health, Mª Carmen Guirao, the director of the Thalasia Hotel, José Catalá, and the person in charge of Ippo and responsible for the area of ​​Aquatic Physiotherapy at the Thalasia Hotel, Pablo Olabe, presented the health and wellness workshops in the Mar Menor will develop from December to June 2020.
Mª Carmen Guirao explained that the objective of these workshops is to spread healthy lifestyle habits, as well as prevention and care measures for pathologies that are very common in everyday life.
In addition to promoting the Mar Menor and its environment as a reference in health tourism.
In this sense, José Catalá has highlighted that Thalasia, as a hotel and spa, promotes this concept of health tourism and has valued initiatives such as those of these workshops, with an improvement in the quality of life and well-being as the main objective.
For his part, Pablo Olabe explained that the workshops will begin this Friday, December 6, with a day focused on osteoporosis.
Thus, from 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. free bone densitometry will be performed and from 5:30 p.m. a conference will be held, in collaboration with Fhoemo, Hispanic Foundation of Osteoporosis and Bone Metabolic Diseases.
This cycle will be completed on Saturday, December 7, with a Nordic walking workshop, from 09:00 to 10:00 hours and bull on the strengthening of the pelvic floor from 11:00 to 13:00 hours, at the Thalasia hotel.
On Saturday, January 18, the benefits of intelligent nutrition will be addressed and on February 29 an activity will be conducted for the little ones, where it will be explained how to stimulate children's skills with water play.
Other pathologies that will focus this first cycle of workshops will be osteoarthritis and fibromyalgia, a disease that has been worked and studied in Thalasia for years in collaboration with the local association Asenfinfa.
The workshops will conclude on June 27, from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. with a day on first aid.
