The municipal tent of San Pedro del Pinatar hosted yesterday, December 15, the screening of the sixth edition of the documentary Memories Crusades, a work carried out by the Department of Citizen Participation, through the project of the Bank of Wisdom Pinatarense, in collaboration with the cultural association AIKE Mar Menor, which was born with the objective of paying tribute to the elderly as an oral source of the most recent past of the municipality.
This project that has already passed 28 protagonists who have generously yielded their memory and their life history, has counted on this occasion with: Guillermo Soriano, known worker of a savings bank for decades who, among other experiences has related as he has changed this sector or their leisure time with classmates or the cinema of Comino.
Another of the protagonists, Mari Luz Pardo, who ran a famous churros kiosk from Lo Pagán, reviewed memories of her childhood and adolescence, such as the veil at Mass or the embroidery workshop of Dońa Pura.
For his part, Antonio Escarabajal, told his experience as a worker in the construction sector, which he arrived after receiving night classes at an academy that combined with the hard work in the field.
The last protagonist, Mari Carmen Hernández Arenas, laid back her childhood in Los Sáez, at Dońa Josefina's school, the parties and the close relationship between the neighbors.
The sixth edition of Memoirs Crusades had the performance of the tenor Jesus Hernandez and the hand of these four protagonists, attendees were able to learn about everyday life, unofficial history, anecdotes and relationships between residents of the municipality.
The vital experience and wisdom treasured by the Pinatarenses with the aim of recovering that oral history, key to understanding the development of the municipality.
To conclude, the mayor, Visitación Martínez and the Councilor for Citizen Participation, Zoilo Ballester, thanked the participants for this project by giving them a personalized copy of the documentary.
