The WYD parish choir of San Pedro del Pinatar, directed by María José Escudero, won this weekend with the first prize of the twenty-eighth edition of the "Villa de Archena" carol contest, organized by the Verderol group.
The choir won this award after playing the carols 'For the little road that leads to Bethlehem' and 'Adeste Fideles', at the Villa de Archena Theater, before 500 spectators.
The Jubón and Trova Music Association of La Nora (Murcia), Choirs and Dances of Zarandona (Murcia), Rico de Ricote and Blanca Choir, Agrupación de Pulse and Púa, of San Roque de Huétor Vega (Granada), also participated in the contest. Association Beviart de Huércal de Almería and Aromas Choir of the Villanueva Valley of the Segura River.
The Mayor of Archena, and the manager of Inquivisa Andrés Cascales were in charge of giving the first prize to the WYD Parish Choir of San Pedro del Pinatar, made up of about thirty young people from the town.
