The City Council of San Pedro del Pinatar, through the Department of Social Welfare, in collaboration with the Health Center and the local dentists, is promoting this year a campaign of free oral exams for children in fourth to sixth grade.
On the occasion of World Oral Health Day, which is celebrated on March 20, an informative campaign in schools is being carried out this quarter, aimed at children in fourth through sixth grade, giving them vouchers for free revisions in the associated dental centers or the municipality's health center.
Thus, children who are beneficiaries of this campaign will be able to attend a free oral review at one of the nine collaborating centers, by appointment request, from March 6 to 20.
Families can choose between any of these clinics.
This campaign, which is part of the activities of the Child Friendly City program, is coordinated by the Department of Social Welfare, and aims to promote good oral health in children of San Pedro del Pinatar, while raising awareness about benefits of maintaining healthy habits from childhood to maintain a healthy mouth.
The Councilor for Social Welfare, Fuensanta García, has stressed the importance of raising awareness in oral health self-care since childhood, as well as periodically attending the dentist to prevent and address early common problems such as tooth decay or inflammation of gums
These reviews are offered to children in the fourth to sixth grades of primary school, to complement those offered by the Ministry of Health, through the Children's Oral Health (Bucosan) program to children aged 6 to 8 years.
The clinics that collaborate with this campaign are the local health center, Cyan Dental, Titanium Dental, Pinatar Dental Center, Dr. Miguel Barreal Borredat Dental Clinic, García Nicolás Dental Health Clinic, Dental Area, Dr. Miguel Gallego Ballester Clinic, and Dental Horadada.
