The municipal group of Citizens will propose in the plenary tomorrow that the government team write a municipal ordinance "to bet on the use of silent pyrotechnics both in the official acts of the City Council of San Pedro and individuals."
The orange initiative is based on the damage that the use of fireworks means for “people with autism or high sensitivity as well as companion animals, a concern that is reflected in the Law on Protection and Defense of Petsâ€, explained the spokesman of the municipal group, José Luis Ros.
"Our municipality does not have a tradition and folklore based especially on the use of gunpowder, rockets and pyrotechnic elements, so the renunciation of its loudness is a perfectly acceptable element," added Ros.
"What we want with this proposal is to give a new sample of the awareness of this group with all citizens, especially those most affected by the use of pyrotechnics, redirecting municipal action to their protection," said the local spokesman.
The proposal of Citizens also includes that the ordinance, once drafted, is sent to the shops selling pyrotechnics so that they can adapt it to it â€.
