The Cabildo Superior de Hermandades y Cofradías de Semana Santa de San Pedro del Pinatar has decided to suspend the passionate parades next April, due to the coronavirus pandemic.
San Pedro del Pinatar suspends the Easter processions before the "State of Alarm" produced by the coronavirus pandemic.
This was transferred yesterday Saturday by the Superior Council of Brotherhoods and Brotherhoods of Holy Week, to the Mayor, Visitación Martínez.
Previously, all the events that take place during Lent had been postponed.
The Holy Week of San Pedro del Pinatar is declared of Regional Tourist Interest and is followed each year by a multitude of faithful, who gather in mass parades, such as "El Santo Entierro".
The Cabildo thanks the brothers and confreres for the effort of preparing for Holy Week and is obliged to make this difficult decision in order to guarantee public health in the municipality and avoid contagions.
