The City Council of San Pedro del Pinatar and the Cabildo Superior de Hermandades y Cofradías have launched an initiative for Pinatarenses to dress their balconies and windows with the banners of local Easter, despite the suspension of all acts on the occasion of the COVID-19 health crisis.
The objective is that, starting on April 3, Friday of Dolores, as every year, the balconies and windows of the town return to be decorated with the banners of each brotherhood, thus recalling the celebration of Holy Week.
In addition, from several brotherhoods it is being promoted that on the same Friday, April 3, the brothers will play the drum or cornet at 8:00 p.m., thus joining the daily tribute to all those who fight to stop this global pandemic.
The Pinatarense Holy Week, declared of regional tourist interest since 1993, has a deep roots among the population of the town, with 19 groups and brotherhoods that take 12 processional parades to the street every year, in which hundreds of Nazarenes, parade participants, costaleros, musicians, manolas, etc.
