The City of San Pedro del Pinatar conveys its solidarity with the victims of the coronavirus of this group of COVID-19 on the International Day of the Gypsy People.
The San Pedro del Pinatar City Council wants to convey, on the International Day of the Gypsy People, its regret for all the victims of the Roma population, who have died of the coronavirus;
In the same way, convey the condolences to their relatives and send a message of encouragement to all those who have been affected, to a greater or lesser extent, by the current circumstances that are being lived.
The Department of Social Welfare, following the confinement measures established by the competent authorities, has been obliged to cancel all those institutional acts and social activities planned to commemorate that day, which were organized by the Gypsy Development Program together with the Federation of Gypsy Associations of Murcia (FAGA), the Fundación Secretariado Gitano and the Kaló-Chikaló Women's Association, who had worked with enthusiasm and effort for the celebration of this Day.
The Social Services Center continues to intervene with all those families of the Roma population who, due to the state of alarm, have seen their socioeconomic situation diminished and are in a state of social vulnerability.
Lastly, the City Council thanks all the members of the Roma population residing in the municipality who, in an act of responsibility, also remain at home today.
