Since the suspension of the face-to-face classes, the Department of Education has carried out an extraordinary follow-up service for students with difficulties, in coordination with the management teams of the different centers. After the publication by the Ministry of Education and Culture of the instructions that collect how the third quarter of the course should be developed, the City of San Pedro del Pinatar, through the Department of Education, maintains constant communication with the teams managers of the 11 educational centers in the town, in which around 5,000 students are enrolled in kindergarten, primary, secondary, high school and training cycles. The Councilor for Education, Carmen María López, explained that since the suspension of face-to-face classes on March 16, communication with the directors of all the schools and institutes of the municipality has been constantly maintained, in order to transfer and pool the guidelines adopted for this course. In addition, the Department of Education has launched an extraordinary monitoring service for students with difficulties, which is currently provided to a total of 67 children.
Thus, periodic telephone monitoring and delivery of teaching materials are carried out to 25 secondary school students and 42 primary school students. For this third trimester, the delivery of material to the students is also being coordinated with the educational centers that have requested it, which will become effective at the end of this week. Carmen María López has also pointed out that 45 councils have been coordinated by the council to scholarship children for the school canteen, for an amount of 3,916.8 euros.
