The homes of the Pensioner of San Pedro and Lo Pagán have been closed since March 12, as a consequence of the health crisis derived from the pandemic by COVID19, although the Department of Social Welfare maintains permanent contact with the boards of directors of both centers and their users. Thus, more than 300 telephone calls have been made to find out the situation of these elderly, listen to them and transmit information of interest to them on the evolution of the health crisis, measures and recommendations to prevent infections, practical information of interest, regarding the use of masks , medical visits or consultations, municipal services such as psychological support, telecare, shops with home service, etc. This monitoring has also been carried out through a WhatsApp group, with 319 users in which the elderly are putting into practice what they have learned in the mobile management courses taught in these centers in the past months. The council also resolves any questions, queries or needs that the elderly transfer and leisure and volunteer activities carried out in the municipality, such as the mask-making campaign in which a large group of home users participate. On the other hand, cleaning and disinfection tasks are being carried out in the two centers for when it is possible to return to service in person.
