The Department of Education has awarded aid for a total amount of 7,500 euros to students from Pinar del Río, Baccalaureate and university degrees who have achieved excellence in the academic field. The City of San Pedro del Pinatar has awarded the attitude and work of 19 students, eight from high school and eleven university students, whose academic results certify the excellence achieved during their training. From the Department of Education, a total of 32,000 euros have been allocated in the 2019 2020 academic year to direct study grants, which complement those offered by other administrations and which include these awards for academic excellence, endowed with a total of 7,500 euros in this call, 250 euros for high school students and 500 for university students. The purpose of these grants is to reward students who have completed baccalaureate or higher level training cycles, and those who are pursuing a university degree with excellent grades to encourage them to continue with their brilliant career, as well as rewarding the added effort of aspiring to the best grades. The Councilor for Education, Carmen María López, stressed that "this year the game in this type of aid has been increased, showing the firm commitment of the City of San Pedro del Pinatar to promote values ??such as effort, perseverance and tenacity, associated with that excellence achieved by many students from Pinar del Río, who are also a reflection of the quality of our educational centers and teaching staff.
" The mayor regretted that this year, due to the health crisis of COVID-19, these young people could not be brought together in an act of recognition, as in previous editions; Although their work and effort has been recognized through publications on the council's social networks, highlighting the achievements and objectives of each of them. The recognized high school students are Álvaro Ballesta, Hoummad El Adep, Inés Lara García, Jamila Bougtib, Marta García, Marta Pindado, Raquel Martínez and Sukaina Zouine Lakbir. In university degrees the distinguished students have been Alicia Ángulo (Electrical Engineering), Chafik Zouine Lakbir (Medicine), Francisco José Alvarado (Telematic Engineering), Jesús Damián Blasco (Industrial Electronic and Automatic Engineering), Juan Guillermo Carrasco Martínez (Telematic Engineering), Laura Martínez (Art History), Lorena Esperanza Tristante (Law and Business Administration and Management), María del Mar Escudero (Economy), Nazaret Olmos (Medicine), Nuria López (History) and Ouassim Amallah (Business Administration and Management) .
