The Beach Unit, made up of eight police officers, is in charge of monitoring the sandy area and the town's promenades from June 26 to September 7. The 13 kilometers of coast of San Pedro del Pinatar will count again this summer, for the fifth consecutive year, with the Beach Police Unit, which will monitor the municipality's coastline. The councilor for the area, Angela Gaona, explained that the function of this unit is focused on offering information to the citizen and guaranteeing safety and peaceful coexistence on the beaches, a task that this year will also include monitoring compliance with prevention regulations.

The officers of this unit use bicycles as a means of transport, in addition to an off-road vehicle and two quad bikes, which facilitate access to the different beach areas. The Beaches unit is in charge for 10 hours a day, seven days a week, of monitoring both the sand area and the promenades, carrying out important preventive work and informing the citizen.
